"Trials"
Daniel Valles

READ Psalms 32:8-9

Psalms 32:8-9 says, "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no under-standing: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee." In this verse, Christ is telling us that He instructs us in the way we should go. Where do we get that instruction? From the Bible. God's word is our "manual" for living. Besides instructing us, He teaches us. Sometimes, firsthand experience can be useful in teaching. Humans learn mostly from experience. The trials of this earthly life are tests of our ability in using what we learned from the Bible. Christ, who watches over us constantly, wants our Christian life not for us to be as horses, where we have to be told everything that we have to do, but He wants us to follow His Will, by ourselves, knowing right from wrong, and making the right choice. So, in order for us to make the right choice, we must read the Bible to know, accept trials and temptations, not grudgingly, and finally, from what truths we learned and tried, we are to walk in the Christian faith, being examples. Remember, the only way we will be able to walk by ourselves, without someone holding us up, is to learn and prove God's promises from the Bible. Trials are not a waste of time... It is one of the only ways which we will know God's promises work.
