"Wake Up"
Do you ever talk to yourself? We all do. Sometimes when we makes obvious mistakes while fixing something, or while trying to figure something out we invariably mutter to ourselves. In these verses we find the Psalmist talking to himself. He was getting all worried and uptight about his troubles (vs. 7), and his soul was "disquieted." Do you ever feel that circumstances are a bit overwhelming? David did. Fortunately, he remembered something that we would be wise to learn from. He remembered who his God was. He then took his soul by the shoulders as it was, and reminded him, "Hope thou in God!" Get your eyes off your circumstances, soul, and stop moping around feeling sorry for yourself! "Hope thou in God." Sometimes all it takes is for us to sit up straight, take a deep breath, and say, "What am I all depressed about? Christ is my God! Hope thou in Him!" |
