"Deliverer"
Daniel Valles

READ Psalm 40:17

How can words describe the rest, assurance, and hope that a child of God has?  Such a peace cannot come by this world's means.  No religion of this world can offer the comfort found in even this one verse!  The relationship of one who has their sins forgiven by Christ is so sweet!

No matter what we are going through, no matter how difficult our situations, when everyone else forgets that we even exist, the Lord's thoughts toward us are more than the sands of the sea (Psalm 139:17-18)!  When earthly god boasts of that?  When Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, he mocked that their 'god' might be hard of hearing!  Yet, God answered Elijah's short prayer (I Kings 18).

When we go through hard and difficult times, we can take immense comfort in the fact that not only does God listen to little old us, but He delights to listen and provide!  He not only listens, He helps, and He delivers!  Every now and then it helps to put life in perspective that the God of the Universe, my Savior, The LORD, the Alpha and Omega, my Redeemer, the King of Kings - thinks constantly about me!!!  Forget all the riches, health-and-wealth prosperity, etc. - I have more faithful promises in this one verse than any religion in the world.

Psalms 55:16
"As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me."

Psalms 86:7
"In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me."

Psalms 91:15
"He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him."

Psalms 116:2
"Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live."
