"1 Day"
Daniel Valles

READ Psalm 84:10

One day to a thousand. That is quite a ratio. David stated that one day fellowshipping and being right with God in His house was better than a thousand days apart from God. Do we desire God's companionship and relationship so much that it pains us greatly when our fellowship is hindered by our sin? Is our life so fervent for God that we clearly know when we are not "in the house of my God"?

Unfortunately, many Christian are content just their "fire insurance." They are not going to Hell, but that is all they are worried about. As a Christian, we should notice if things are not right between us and the Savior. Do I live my life is such a careless and worldly manner that I would not even notice if the Spirit left? The Spirit indwells us if we are saved, but we can harden our hard to such an extent that we muffle and silence it.

Examine yourself. When was the last time that you knew you were in right fellowship and communion with God? Was it this morning while you read your Bible? Two days ago? A month? As humans, we can get fretful and anxious if our regular friends all of a sudden stopped coming by. Is our fellowship with Christ so intimate that we miss and yearn for the fellowship to be restored?

In Psalms 119:59, David says, "I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies." When fellowship is broken, it is not that God moved away from us - we moved away from God. Our eyes or minds turned to the world instead of God. David acknowledges that when he realized he was not right with God, that the sweet fellowship was gone, that he, David, had to turn back to God.

How is my walk with God? Have I thought on my ways? Where am I in my fellowship with God? Do I miss Him? Is He just an acquaintance now?
Proverbs 18:24 "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." Don't push him away.

1 day versus 1,000 days - How much is fellowship with Him worth to you?
