"Satisfied"

READ Psalm 37:16-19

How often do we as Christians look at what we have, and for a brief period of time wish we had more.  Maybe a bigger house, maybe a newer car...  Maybe it seems everyone but us has money in the bank and food in the pantry.  The insights that David wrote in the Psalms are so poignant because he was just a normal person.  He went through hard times, poverty, destitution, riches, wealth, luxury, grief - all the emotions and states that we go through.  In these verses he remarks how a righteous man with just a little can be better than the riches of many wicked.

Christians all over the world suffer persecution, and if the Lord tarries, America will too.  Undoubtedly many persecuted Christians would like to have the security and ease that many unbelievers do.  But, as Christians, we have a loving Savior.  In verse 19, David states that the righteous that see difficult, hard times, and famines will be satisfied.  I recently heard a testimony from a Christian imprisoned about how even though they received very little food, he was satisfied.  He said sometimes God did not give them food, but He took away the hunger.  Interesting.  God is always sufficient for us.  No matter what we are going though, we will always have more than we deserve.
