"Praise" Daniel Valles
When do you praise the Lord? Is praising the Lord just an act that is relegated to church services? No. David proclaimed that he blessed and praised the Lord continually. Do we actively praise the Lord throughout our day? Praising the Lord is not relegated to a genre of music. Praising the Lord is listing and extolling the attributes of God. I heard a pastor recently say that without the Psalms and the Word of God, we would not know how good God is. Psalms describes and praises God more than mere mortals could have dreamed up. We can thank Him for His mercy that is everlasting, His constant presence, and so much more! Most of the Psalms are written describing the character of God! Throughout our day, whether at work or play, we need to be cognizant of the fact that God does intervene in the affairs of man, and that His character is ever present. There is always something to praise God about. In verse two, David talks about how he made his soul boast in the LORD. As you read God's Word and pray, it is natural to praise the Lord. As we go about our duties and chores, whether in the kitchen, garden, or garage, sometimes all that it takes to get the rivers of life flowing in our daily lives is to start listing praises and blessings to God. One way to start is to think of something that you have never given thanks for. Your mind will recall many times you have praised God before, and before you know it, "his praise shall continually be in my mouth." |
