"Speaketh Judgment" Daniel Valles
Of the many attributes and characteristics that can be used to describe someone, two of the best are that they speak wisdom and that they can properly dispense and discern judgment. David here describes the righteous man as having these characteristics. In verse 31 he gives the secret to having wisdom and proper judgment. David states that the only way that that man can do so is because "law of his God is in his heart." Proper wisdom and judgment does not necessarily come from years of experience or reading and studying the works of great men. A young adult can make wiser decisions than an older adult IF the law of God is in his heart, and he is following it. It is interesting to note that countries that live by the rules and commandments in the Bible reap the same benefits as Christians who follow the rules. Knowledge and wisdom, as Proverbs shows, comes from God and a fear of Him. If you, as a Christian, are attempting to guide your family, church, youth, yourself, or others without studying the law of our God, you are settling for second-rate and earthly wisdom. If you desire to be a man or woman of God who can counsel, speak wisdom, discern, and execute proper judgment, get in the Word! Read it, meditate on it, take notes, pray about it, memorize it, and more! The last half of the verse states that "none of his steps shall slide." When you guide your life on Biblical principles, you cannot go wrong. God will honor your desire to do right. When you walk where the Guide shows you to walk, you cannot slide. |
