"Neglected Children"
George Muller once wrote the following about this verse. "There is such a thing as babes being neglected, and what is the consequence? They never become healthy men or women, because of that early neglect. Perhaps - and it is one of the most hurtful forms of this neglect - they obtain improper food, and therefore do not attain the full vigor of maturity."In your discipleship of new believers, search out the best truths to teach them. Teach them doctrine. Do not teach them opinions of great pastors or yourself. Give them the Word. Show them how to study and meditate on it. Encourage them to get into the regular practice of seeing what God wants to show to them. Invite them over to study to the Word with you. Encourage questions. Read the Scriptures together, talk about it and meditate on it. As Christians, we have spiritual 'children'. The ones we personally lead to Christ, or the ones that we can mentor and influence are our children. This falls under the realm of stewardship. Stewards are responsible to see that everyone in the house is fed well and right. We will have to give account for how we feed the brethren spiritually. Do not feed the church with junk food such as methods and programs. Teach them. Feed them. Do not let it be said of you that you neglected your children. Rather, strive for "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things..." Matthew 25:21
