"Sincerity"

READ Ephesians 6:24

What does it mean to love God with sincerity?  Well, what is sincerity?  Sincerity, used here, means purity and incorrupt.  Most of us have heard of sincerity as meaning genuine and honest.  When the Bible states that we are to love Jesus Christ with sincerity, it involves making sure that our motives and actions are what they should be.  Do we make a pious appearance to those around us?  Do we love God, but only for what He can give us?  Do we view Him as a good luke charm?  No!  Our Lord Jesus Christ died for us, taking away our filthy, degenerate sin so that we could spend an eternity without end with Him!  When the verse says that grace will be given to those who love Him in sincerity, it is simply saying that favor, delight, sweetness, joy, loving-kindness will be share with Him!

If you go through the motions just so that you will be 'good' in this life, you are missing out on the joy!  When you truly love your spouse in sincerity, not because you are trying to get any favors, you have a greater and sweeter fellowship!  The same is even greater with Christ!  He wants to share sweet fellowship with you, but not with someone who is not sincere.  He will still listen to your prayers, perhaps answer them, give you some blessings every now and then, but ho hum...

He wants you to set time aside for Him.  Get the Word of God, fellowship with Him, learn from Him, pray to Him, desire Him, live for Him....  in sincerity.
