"God's Strength"
Daniel Valles

READ Nehemiah 6:9

Last night, my pastor preached a message on Nehemiah, and how Satan tried to distract him from his purpose.  A verse that caught my ear was Nehemiah 6:9, which says, "For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands."  Many times we can forget that our strength will not suffice.  He is our strength, the Strength of Israel (I Sam. 15:29).  Here are some verses of encouragement reminding us of our source of strength: God Almighty.

1 Samuel 15:29  "And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent."

1 Chronicles 16:11  "Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually."

2 Samuel 22:33 "God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect."

Psalms 18:32  "It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect."

Psalms 22:19  "But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me."

Psalms 27:1 "The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"

Psalms 28:7-8 "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.   The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed."

Psalms 28:8 "The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed."

Psalms 31:4 "Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength."

Psalms 73:26 "My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever."

Psalm 105:1-4  "O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.  Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.  Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.  Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore."
