THIS WEEK'S VERSE
----------------------------------------------------------
"Speaketh Judgment"
READ Psalm 37:30-31

Of the many attributes and characteristics that can be used to describe someone, two of the best are that they speak wisdom and that they can properly dispense and discern judgment. David here describes the righteous man as having these characteristics. In verse 31 he gives the secret to having wisdom and proper judgment. David states that the only way that that man can do so is because "law of his God is in his heart."

Proper wisdom and judgment does not necessarily come from years of experience or reading and studying the works of great men. A young adult can make wiser decisions than an older adult IF the law of God is in his heart, and he is following it.

It is interesting to note that countries that live by the rules and commandments in the Bible reap the same benefits as Christians who follow the rules. Knowledge and wisdom, as Proverbs shows, comes from God and a fear of Him. If you, as a Christian, are attempting to guide your family, church, youth, yourself, or others without studying the law of our God, you are settling for second-rate and earthly wisdom.

If you desire to be a man or woman of God who can counsel, speak wisdom, discern, and execute proper judgment, get in the Word! Read it, meditate on it, take notes, pray about it, memorize it, and more! The last half of the verse states that "none of his steps shall slide." When you guide your life on Biblical principles, you cannot go wrong. God will honor your desire to do right. When you walk where the Guide shows you to walk, you cannot slide.

This has been one busy week!  We've updated and tweaked several pages on the website, am finishing up four audio CDs of our top four essays, finishing the new resource bookstore, and (Lord willing) should have more time to spend on the Why Be Concerned video.

Pray for me as I am now working mostly full-time in this ministry, that the Lord will provide my needs, that I will remain diligent and make the most of the time He has given me.

CURRENT EVENT RECAP
------------------------------------------------------
While I have been busy moving into the new residence and office, I have not had time to cover the early part of July, so here is a half-week recap.

Since we are already pretty deep into the days of Lot and Noah, the topics discussed will, undoubtedly, include increased mention and focus on the sin of sodomy in our land and world.  We have already seen the impetuous rise and push for same-sex marriage (perhaps the most blasphemous oxymoron!).  I, and others, warned that we would soon see the push for gay adoptions.  Most people do not think about it, but as one article today pointed out, if the state ever takes your children away (deeming you unfit or homophobic, etc), those children could be 'eligible' for adoption by homosexuals.  Do not brush off the import of that statement.  Consider that Satan will do all that he can to get children out of a Godly, Christ-fearing environment, into an environment filled with rebellion against God.  Having them in the public school system is already having them halfway there!

More and more states are following the homosexual bandwagon, whether it be with registers, civil unions, discussion, or whatnot, the public is becoming quickly inured to the subject and its vileness has lost its distain.

Also, on the abortion front, Britain is going through an abortion debate right now, but it does not seem favorable, as the public there has already been inured through the recent 'documentary' butchering on TV.  A recent debate to limit abortions there is expected to be soundly rejected.

China and the US are quickly and quietly reaching a breaking point as China is getting ready to practice a Taiwan 'invasion' in response to an anticipated counter-attack by our US Seventh Fleet.  Just today, China was ranked in a Pentagon report as the number one threat to global security.  Sure, we enjoy trade with them now, but just image the consequences if China ever plays that card against us as leverage for Taiwan.  How much of our economy and infrastructure now rests on China?  With the majority of jobs in America sliding toward lower-end retail (ie. Walmart) and Walmart's imports from China are 75-80%, how long do you think America could easily sustain itself commerce-wise?  If China suddenly sanctioned the US, closed all ports and trade with the US, would they have to worry about us interferring with their invasion of Taiwan?  Probably not.  Our troops would be heading home to quell the upcoming civil unrest stemming from a near-total collapse from the loss of investments.

Another concern tied in with that is our increasingly stretched army.  This summer, we are involved in two unnecessary war theaters, and the bulk of our carrier fleets are now undergoing summer tests to become even more 'flexible'.  Our country is in a balancing act in terms of defense.  We are having to pull troops from Germany and South Korea to offset other areas, whilst our Reserves and National Guard are pulled away from their proper place in America to help stabilize an off-kilter force.  China does not have to fear our troops, as they are spread thinner than varnish over this world.  The only real threat is our carrier fleets, which they can quickly dispatch with the Russian Sunburn and Onyx cruise missiles.  Without our carrier fleets, we lose the majority of our air power, which is our greatest tactic.

In Iraq, we have 'transferred sovereignty' to the people (supposedly), but the situation there is still getting worse.  Now it may be worse because portions of the Iraqi police and Iraqi forces are refusing to work with the US troops for fear of vilification and retribution from the hands of their own countrymen.  Also, there is a growing movement in the younger generation of Iraqis who are swelling the tide in support for the 'rebel' cleric and anti-US sentiments.  We cannot with guns, force, laws, and curfews expect peace and safety to come to that region.

In the midst of it all, the UN is rising to its greatest prominence.  The Hegelian dialects of feigned distain for the UN and then meekly asking for their help to the point where they are overseeing the majority of what is done was lost on many.  Considering that Bush Sr. so ardently promoted a New World Order (godless, lawless, and soverignless), it should not surprise us that his son is attempting to accomplish and encourage it, howbeit through sleight of hand.

On an economic front, consider the run on the banks in Russia.  Already in two months, about 10 percent of all household savings have been withdrawn, to the point where one bank now has a 10% penalty charge on withdrawals.  Combine that news with investors leaving the US dollar for other currencies such as the Australian dollar and the sterling.  Our economy, for all the touted figures, is a deficit economy that is on it's last legs.  What would you do if tomorrow you got up, turned on the radio, and found out that there was a run on the banks due to a lack of confidence sparked by some recent stock market crash, etc.  As in Russia currently, there would be long lines, high fees, and the money you got could quickly be inflated or worthless anyway (worst scenario).

We will following the Russian bank and Yukos situations closely in the weeks ahead, as well as the China/US tensions, and the unfolding moral collapse of our country.  Remember, we cover the news with these insights not so that we will be depressed about the situation, but to be encouraged that we do not (thankfully) live for this world, but an eternal kingdom.  If your life revolves around this world, your job, your house, etc., take a cold, hard look at this world, develop a healthy distain for worldly things, and lift your eyes and life in service to the King of Kings who is returning soon!
