THIS WEEK'S VERSE
----------------------------------------------------------
Jeremiah 23:22 says, "But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused
my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their
evil way, and from the evil of their doings." Vs. 28-29 says, "The
prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word,
let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?
saith the LORD." vs. 36-37 says, "...ye have perverted the words of
the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God. Thus shalt thou say to
the prophet, What hath the LORD answered thee? and, What hath the LORD
spoken." There are in 'Christian' circles today, leaders, who do not
tell God's Word like He has given it. In the passages,
God laments that He wanted these certain prophets to stand "in my
counsel", and to proclaim "my words". The result would have been
that the people would have repented if the prophets had just preached
God's Word! When a blind leader attempts to mix in his own
philosophy of life, psychology, new age, relativism, etc., then the LORD
says that he has perverted His words! God admonishes us to separate
the chaff from the wheat! In the Gospels, Christ tells the disciples
to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees. (Matthew 16:6,11,12; Mark
8:15; Luke 12:1) Luke 9:49-50 says, "And John answered and said,
Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him,
because he followeth not with us. And Jesus said unto him, Forbid
him not: for he that is not against us is for us." Sometimes you may
not always agree with someone in another ministry as to their methods or
means of ministry. Christ told His disciples that if they were not
against Him, they should not forbid them. When someone teaches a
'doctrine' or advice pertaining to what a Christian should do, and yet
perverts God's Word, we are to beware of them. The reminder that God
gave us should constantly be on our hearts and minds - "What hath the LORD
answered thee? and, What hath the LORD spoken"

[RE: The actors in 'The Passion' - "Are they 'unknown actors' as stated by
Danae Dobson and Cal Thomas in their rave reviews of this Hollywood
production? The following profiles, which have been written by various
authors, present a radically different perspective on the
producer/director, actors and actresses of the The Passion.] *WARNING:
this article is written by a Christian perspective, but documents graphic
movies that these actors have played in, and several occult references.
It just sickens me that Dobson, Graham, etc. have naively endorsed 'The
Passion' with its litany of pornography actors.
WORKS IN PROGRESS
------------------------------------------------------------
As most of you know, we are working on the new "PrudentLiving" section.
With the lack of material from a Christian perspective on this matter, it
is our hope and prayer that we can help families prepare for darkening
days ahead. Work is proceeded, abeit slowly, on the "Why Should
Christians Be Concerned About Current Events" video that we are working
on. Satan pulled out several bothersome distractions this week, so
please keep us in prayer.
CURRENT EVENT RECAP
------------------------------------------------------
In the news this week, we started getting a small taste of Russia as an
emerging industrial powerhouse, as Putin is making drastic changes esp.
with oil and pipelines - which seem to be working. It is also
interesting that Russia and OPEC/Arab-nations are getting more amiable in
their relations. Even while urging demiliterization of space, Putin
reaffirmes their right to "be ready to counter others' moves to the
contrary."
Also, with tensions in Iraq, many of our allies are considering pulling
out their troops. I am almost sure that tensions in the holy cities
of Iraq (Fallujah, Najef, etc.) will probably flare up again with news of
Israel's assassination of Hamas' military wing
leader, Abdel-Aziz al-Rantissi. Combine that with news that troops
will be staying longer, and even some having just returned home will have
to return, makes for a low morale point for our troops. The Iraqi
troops and policemen are also causing concern as marked numbers have
refused to help the coalition troops during the uprisings.
Pressure is increasing in light of the Iraq uprisings, and from concerns
voiced by allies, to get the UN and NATO involved. Many are saying
that their involvement will lend more legitimacy to whatever government is
established.
President Bush is now urging that the Patriot Act be renewed and extended.
Also, we see tightening on travel as Amtrack is now testing 'screening'
measures, and more and more disclosure of customer information to Homeland
Security by airline companies - contrary to what they told the customers.
In Korea, we are getting ready to pull away from the Koreas border.
One of the points we are giving up is a vital lookout that can see deep
into N. Korea.
Slowly it is coming out in mainstream news regarding depleted uranium
poisoning of our troops and Iraq from our munitions. We passed the
one year mark of the 'liberation' of Iraq (the pulling down of a statue);
yet it is rapidly deteriorating. Many news sources, when commenting
about the Iraqi deaths during the week just said 'hundreds'. As of
the 12th, they reported 600 dead, but the numbers are higher than that.
Already there are new mass graves near the cities.
