RECAP NEWSLETTER - 3/21/5 Issue 35
"There is one psychological peculiarity in the human being that always strikes one: to shun even the slightest signs of trouble on the outer edge of your existence at times of well-being... to try not to know about the sufferings of others and your own or one's own future sufferings, to yield in many situations, even important spiritual and central ones - as long as it prolongs one's well-being." Alexander Solzhenitsyn "Even silence may be eloquent." "A servant is known by his master's absence." "To be trusted is a greater compliment than to be loved." George Macdonald "Any excuse will serve a tyrant." Aesop "One sword keeps another in the sheath." George Herbert "I conceive that the great part of the miseries of mankind are brought upon them by false estimates they have made of the value of things." Benjamin Franklin
CURRENT EVENT RECAP Two weeks have transpired since our last RECAP, and many different events are gripping our world. One main event that we will be examining is the events surrounding Terri Shiavo and whom the Nazi Germans called the "useless eaters." "Useless eaters": a term coined in Germany in the 1930s referring to mentally or physically disabled or older people viewed as a drain on public resources. Action with this mentality gave justification and way to the larger Holocaust after more than 200,000 disabled people were killed. As far back as late 1920s, the topic of mercy killings, euthanasia, and social engineering was introduced into the German general public discussion. Does any of this sound familiar to what we are observing today? What is the Christian response to what the world calls the disabled and useless? Matthew 15:30 "And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them" Luke 14:13 "But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind" Deuteronomy 27:18 "Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way." Psalms 82:3-4 "Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked." Leviticus 19:32 "Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD." 1 John 3:17 "But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?" Do the rejected and disabled see that you treat them differently than the world? I am amazed and doubfounded that people are so shocked at the idea of Terri Shiavo's dilemma. They have a some notion that how in the world did this happen here? Surely this is a remote, freak incident. Nazi Germany educated, propogated, and debated the ideas years before they subtly started to implement them. If you do even a simple internet news search you will find that a lot of media outlets are turning the Terri events into a right-to-die campaign. How many years has America butchered unborn children?!! Just last week a Catholic bishop in the Philippines remarked that abortion is worse than murder of adults. The Terri Shiavo debacle is not a new thing. It is the result of an abortion culture that Christians have given scant action toward. If Terri Shiavo ends up being saved from starvation, reabilitated, etc. (which I earnestly pray will happen) there will quickly come up more debate and 'circumstances' that will repeat. Why? Because we have never taken care of the problem. I read an excellent Indian proverb today which stated that "One who steals a needle will steal an ox." Some people have the naive and ignorant view that just because they cannot see the unborn child, killing it is therefore just a hot political issue which people get emotional about. Others, like Rice, are comfortable with being "mildly pro-choice." However, they then think that when they can see them it is different. But, then they start mentally sizing them up as to whether they are "useless eaters." It all goes back to the abortion abomination! A society that is quite willing to accept shredding children in the womb thinks nothing of starving a full grown adult in a hospital!!! Must we be reminded that Psalms 127:3 says, "Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward." Each and every abortion robs God!!! That child is not yours, it is not some body tissue, there is no 'choice' - it is God's from the very conception!!! When you lay a hand on what God clearly says is Mine, you are being sized up for a millstone around the neck! (Luke 17:2) When a nation legislates itself the authority to take from God what He has declared His, then we have absolutely no space to say 'God bless America." God have mercy on America!!!
Psalms 94:20-23
People wonder when God will judge our nation. You missed the sign.
He started years ago. Just now we are starting to realize what big
trouble we are in. Our economy and currency is plummeting, our
morals have tanked, we are firmly engaged in a spaghetti mess of foreign
entanglements, our military is vastly overstretched and overseas, we face
a national draft, we are losing freedoms and liberties in the name of
false security, and to top it all off - God is our number one enemy.
Forget lying awake a night worrying about some foreign terrorist blowing
something up. Forget about your stock portfolio being worthless
tomorrow and your retirement account frozen. "God is jealous, and
the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take
vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit
the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and
the clouds are the dust of his feet." Nahum 1:2-3
"Thus saith the Lord GOD; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of
the nations and countries that are round about her. What about you?
Joshua 5:13-15 As we seek Christ first and highest of all, we should not be so much concerned about whether God is on our side or not, but whether we serve Him, and recognize that it solely matters whether we are serving Him. Joshua 24:15 "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Do not choose tomorrow, do not wait until Sunday, do not wait until you can talk to your pastor or friends. The choice is before you right now. Where will you go from this minute forward in your life? Will you purge your life of the worldly garbage that is accumulating in your house? ...in your life? Are you willing to this day and hour determine that you and your family will serve the LORD?
REMINDERS & PRAYER REQUESTS
Pray for our President that if he is not saved, he will come to the true
knowledge of Jesus Christ. Pray that he will work to the protection
of the American people, and the punishment of the wicked.
Pray for the requests in PrayerList, and also in iChurches.
May God richly bless, |
