RECAP NEWSLETTER - 2/7/5 Issue 32
DEVOTIONS As you read through this chapter, you get a condensed version of Israel's history. It relates the overflowing goodness, and manifold mercies of God as His people continually turned away from Him. Time after time, God delivered them and restored them, only for them to turn back to their evil ways. Each time God had to deal in harsher measures than before. As the people are here confessing their sins, and admitting God's goodness and mercy, they make a humbling statement regarding God and His actions. In verse 33, the people humbly admit that God is just in all He has done. They did not attempt to whitewash their sins by inferring that He was a bit harsh at times, or blame it on lustful tendencies - no, they admitted they were wrong. "For thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly." (vs. 33). What heinous crime had they committed that a just God had to judge them? "Neither have our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies, wherewith thou didst testify against them." (vs. 34) A nation that knows God, knows what is right, knows the commandments, testimonies, precepts, statues, and laws of God, and yet decides to serve themselves and their lusts has done wickedly. Is this a description of our country? What other country has been so blessed, in past history, with as many Bible schools, universities, a plethora of churches, free reign to publish books on doctrine, living, and serving God? What average pastor does not have several shelves full of Christian doctrinal books? Many households in America at least still have a copy somewhere in the house of the Bible. So why, after having been blessed abundantly with every imaginable opportunity and means does our nation not serve Him? What will be the tragic reward for a people so blithely set on their own devices with God's clear light still bright in their land? I do not know the specifics, but I know that once it commences, our response should be "thou art just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly."
"Our Country, right or wrong! "There is no right way to do the wrong thing." "Nothing which is morally wrong can ever be politically right."

CURRENT EVENT RECAP This week almost seems like a broken record. In a way we are repeating what we mentioned recently, but also showing that it is repeating. One quote that I am reminded of a lot (mostly in regards to people) is the saying: "Unless you change where you are going, you will end up where you are heading." Two weeks ago we examined the President's Inauguration Speech. That event was surrounded with many references to social and political ambitions that we, as a nation, deemed of highest importance to our country. Never was the subject of abortion even remotely mentioned. Besides giving several signs to the fact that he is versed in occult symbolism and terms, he placed the words of the Koran on level with Jesus' preaching. That is rank blasphemy. To place the Koran on the same level as the Bible is a travesty in itself, but to specifically mention that it was on par with Christ' sermon on the mount should get your blood boiling at such callous disregard for the truth. He also stated, "To make our economy stronger and more dynamic, we must prepare a rising generation to fill the jobs of the 21st century. Under the No Child Left Behind Act, standards are higher, test scores are on the rise." What he means by No Child Left Behind, is that you have such a large emphasis on self-esteem, that teachers will be giving out better grades than the student deserve, solely in the interest in making the child feel like a winner, and make the school's education grade look good. No Child Left Behind means they want to lower the standard for everyone in public schools. In another statement, he reiterated his border policy of permitting "temporary guest workers to fill jobs Americans will not take." To even suggest that there are millions of Americans who do not want jobs, and to give them to foreign nationals, is crazy. We have lost over a million jobs since Bush became president. They lost their jobs mostly because of cheap labor, illegal immigration, outsourcing, and detrimental trade with China. Don't place the blame on the blue collar, hard-working Americans. This week's address also lacked clues to any spiritual awakening or fruit of any kind in our President. It is absurd to even suggest that one who most "Christians" look up to as a model ''Christian" should give two of the most important speeches of his second term, and not even mention the travesty of abortion - let alone how our nation is at the tip of God's mercy and should be calling out in national mourning for God's forgiveness, cleansing, and renewing of our nation as a people that desire to serve Him. The closest he came to mentioning abortion was the stem-cell statement. "I will work with Congress to ensure that human embryos are not created for experimentation or grown for body parts, and that human life is never bought and sold as a commodity. America will continue to lead the world in medical research that is ambitious, aggressive, and always ethical." You will notice that he carefully defines what he is against. The three things he stated have not really happened in our country. It very well could happen next month, but right now we have a bigger problem than embryonic stem cell research. You will notice that he did not exclude using human embryos for experimentation that are a by-product of other processes such as abortion. To me, he is throwing out a red herring that everyone will be drawn to. I think the solution is extremely simple: Abolish abortion and you will not have embryonic material obtained in an unethical, immoral, and unBiblical way. He is focusing on a problem (embryonic stell cell research) that is a problem resulting from a larger problem (abortion on demand). Get rid of the white elephant in the living room, and a lot of other problems will disappear. So, once again, he completely skips the subject of abortion. I would not expect Clinton or even Bush Sr. to make such a statement regarding abortion. But for the wolf who wears the sheep's clothing, George W. certainly gives many suggestions and signs that he is not a Christian, or he does not care for the things of God. I would say that he is not saved at all. Namely, because as an involved and active member of occult groups (Skull and Bones, Bohemian Grove), he has already made certain oaths and sworn fealty to various guises and personifications of Satan. It is not uncommon for such groups to vehemently deny Jesus Christ. You will notice that Bush makes reference to God, but not to Jesus Christ. Another reference that he often refers to is Providence. "Our generation has dreams of its own, and we also go forward with confidence. The road of Providence is uneven and unpredictable -- yet we know where it leads: It leads to freedom" - State of the Union Speech, 2005. What is 'Providence'? When it is a noun and uncapitalized, it is a noun meaning "God's care." When it is capitalized, it is a pronoun and a supreme being. Nowhere in the Bible is God referred to as Providence. The only time the word 'providence' is used in the Bible is as an uncapitalized reference to a certain governor's provision to the Jews (Acts 24:2). However, besides mentioning it at a 'prayer breakfast', Bush has mentioned this supreme being, 'Providence', twice in two State of the Union addresses. "We Americans have faith in ourselves, but not in ourselves alone. We do not know -- we do not claim to know all the ways of Providence, yet we can trust in them, placing our confidence in the loving God behind all of life, and all of history." - State of the Union Speech, 2003. Hmmm. Well, considering his occult background, does the word 'Providence' as a supreme being have any particular meaning to mystery religions? Pastor David Meyer, a former Satanist, states, "All upper-level Freemasons and high-level members of other secret societies know that "Providence" means Lucifer, who is really Satan." (lasttrumpetministries.org). To make it even more circumstantial, remember the last time he showed definite occult signs and symbolism was on the most important event on the witchcraft transition calendar? It was when "the sun travels from Capricorn, the sign of the goat, into Aquarius, the 11th sign and haven of the new age of antichrist." Now, thirteen days later, he makes his great speech on another day on the witchcraft calender. Feb. 2nd is one out of eight high cross-quarter sabats called "Imbolc." (lasttrumpetministries.org) Twice now he has made statements regarding the direction of 'Providence' as a path that our nation is on. Is he subtly saying that our nation is on a path toward Satan, directed by his ministers? II Cor. 11:14-15 says, "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works." Revelation 17:17 "For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled."
