Pray for the missionaries and Christians in Haiti - for their protection, health, energy, needed supplies and water, mental strength, and grace. Also pray for the lost, that they will see their need for a Saviour, and that He will show grace and mercy during this trying time.
OK, folks, this disaster is why YOU need to take steps toward Prudent Living. These people's lives were completely changed in MINUTES. Their stores and sources of food were all affected, entire hospitals collapsed, etc. Be a prudent steward and examine how you can examine the potential threats, disruptions, disasters, etc. in your area and mitigate those concerns. How many of these people wish they had some means of filtering water, bottled water, a camp stove, flashlights, baby wipes, etc? Forget about stockpiling for government takeover, etc. - you stand a much, much higher chance of going through a natural/manmade disaster first.
Here are some key articles that you MUST read. If you've already read them before, read them again. These people's entire worlds have been shattered for the rest of their life, and there will be much UNNECESSARY suffering because of a lack of proper stewardship. Yes, I'm a bit warm. Time is running out! When God provides the means and opportunities for you to prudently provide and exercise prudent stewardship, and we then spend it on frivolities and baubles, should we then expect God to provide later on? I've covered this in-depth in my articles here:
Tempting God: The Errors
of Presumed Protection
God's Provision
God's Provision - Part II: More Case Studies
Why Should I Prepare?
Thoughts on Testimonies During Disasters
Calamities & the Poor
Evil Tidings
Why would
God judge America?
Before you think we are not a third-world country that would be affected this badly, consider the looming currency collapse earthquake that will shutter the grocery stores, gas stations, work places, fire, police, and health centers.
